Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Dec 08, 2019 5:44 pm We are demolishing and rebuilding in the new year but will be retaining our pool area which is only a few years old. Does anyone have an idea of the most cost effective way to cover the pool in order to protect it during the build? We are erecting temporary colourbond fencing in front of our glass pool fence but we still need/want it to be covered! Thank you!! Emily Re: Cover for pool during build 3Dec 28, 2019 4:44 pm Depends how close it is to the build. Some builders insist on hard trafficable cover. Will the filter be running during the build. Pools go green very quickly and depending on your surface you could compromise it by staining. Cheers Brickface Re: Cover for pool during build 4Dec 28, 2019 6:38 pm Brickface's reference to the builder is correct. You need to speak to the builder. There have been discussions about this subject and OHS on H1 lately, have you done a forum search? 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. The builder hasn’t really given us much guidance and hasn’t seemed to be too fussed about it. It’s more is that wants to do it correctly so it doesn’t get damaged! There will be a colourbond fence in front of it. We were thinking a ply covering attached to a frame. We weren’t going to run the filter as the power to it needs to be cut for the build. It’s a fibreglass pool. Fingers crossed it doesn’t stain. I think my partner spoke to the pool guy and we are just going to dump pool chemicals in at different stages but it will still go green 😩 I did have a search prior to posting and couldn’t find anything. Can you suggest what I should be searching for? Thanks again for your replies! Emily Re: Cover for pool during build 6Dec 29, 2019 3:46 pm I just used "pool hard cover" as keywords, only one result but it is a recent discussion. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=96859&p=1856556&hilit=pool+hard+cover#p1856556 It really depends on the builder.
