Browse Forums Pools & Spas Re: How close can a pool be to a house? 3Aug 25, 2019 9:30 am wheeliworks The simple rule is depth of excavation needs to be same distance . If concrete on veranda is 100mm thick and pool is excavation is 1m close to verandah pool can be 900mm away . If pool is 2m deep it would be 1.9 away . It is different calc if your soil is sand . Most house footings are 300-450 deep so calculation is from bottom of footing . Cheers Andrew Thanks so much! So if pool is 1.2m deep verandah is 100mm thick pool can be 1.1m from verandah? The pool guy seemed to thick it was just ok would need to dig deeper for the concrete for the pool but once concrete in its fine?
