Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 13, 2019 10:35 am hi so our pool was installed on friday not entirely finished but trying to figure out what we will do on the rear side for pool fence requirements. Along the back side we need a small retaining wall and then what do we do for fencing? Do we put a black tube pool fence infront of this? Or can we add height with maybe a timber screen fence or bamboo to the existing fence. Ive read the regulations and i understand the pool fence must be 1.2m high or if the boundary fence is used must be 1.8m but cant find any info about these type of fences. if we had colourbond fences it would be easy. Post and mesh type fence 2Jan 13, 2019 11:38 am the chain link or mesh fence will be climb-able so will not be compliant a tube pool fence between mesh fence and pool will not be compliant as will be within ? distance of mesh fence i think your only options are change boundary fence fit bamboo screening or similar on neighbours side of mesh fence Re: What to do here? Post and mesh type fence 3Jan 23, 2019 6:46 pm I think if we went almost right after the fibre glass its 900mm which is what it needs to be. Then thought maybe white rocks and some sort of screening tree in the 900mm space. Re: What to do here? Post and mesh type fence 4Aug 12, 2019 8:57 pm Our estate has a post and rail fence with mesh as our boundary fences. People who have put pools near their boundary fences have just removed part of their boundary fence and put a pool compliant fence in instead. Im pretty sure estates cant enforce you to have post and mesh fence if its next to a pool. Cheapest option would be just to remove part of the fence and replace with pool fencing. Re: What to do here? Post and mesh type fence 6Sep 16, 2019 10:43 am We are only just getting it done now but we are have 1.8m high tube fencing along that edge which will be compliant. It took a few phone calls and emails to the certifier to figure out our options Re: What to do here? Post and mesh type fence 7Oct 03, 2019 2:33 pm If the boundary fence is 1800mm... the NCZ can be applied to your side of the fence.... if the boundary fence is less than 1800mm, the NCZ has to be applied on the neighbors side of the fence.
