My new house has backyard space of 6mts x 14.5mts. There is a sewer easement running at 3m. So space till easement is 3mts x 14.5mts.
Is this kind of backyard enough for a small plunge pool/spa ?
Can pools be built close to easements ?

Building close to a sewer can be done. The easement will generally include the zone of influence . The actual pipe will be centre of easement . We often install pools 600mm away from the pipe . To do this you need to engage a water service Co ordinator . Alternatively engage a pool builder who specialises in plunge pools who is familiar with regulations and process

A above ground spa , pool is worse as the zone of influence is a 45deg angels from the pipe up . The deeper in the ground the closer it can go .
Are you in NSW because these measurements are NSW Regs . They are slightly different in each state .

I am in Melbourne, VIC. I was thinking that for an over the ground SPA, I could extend the decking around my alfresco area and then use part of alfresco for the SPA. I have a 3 mts backyard length from Alfresco to easement and further 3 mts to fence.

The key thing is where the pipe is in the easement. You can build up to the edge of the easement as long as the bottom of the pool is below the zone. See this link that…
