Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Oct 23, 2016 11:23 am Hi everyone, I came across this site by pure luck when I was trying to get some info on building a pool, hoping someone can point me in the right direction we have had some quotes for a small concrete pool building in out back yard which unfortunatly is a lot more than we thought and means unless we can build ourselves, the dream won't become a reality. We want a geometric 7x3 pool My initial questions are; once we obtain the self build permit and permission to go ahead with the pool from the shire, do we need a professional to approve each stage of building the pool to confirm it meets requirements- ie the steelwork etc. Can anybody recommend somebody in the Perth area to get the structural engineering plans drawn up for the pool and do you have any idea about why I should expect to pay for these? We are fairly clueless about the whole process so any advice is much appreciated! Thanks steph Re: Self build pool perth hills HELP 2Oct 23, 2016 3:28 pm Steph101 Hi everyone, I came across this site by pure luck when I was trying to get some info on building a pool, hoping someone can point me in the right direction we have had some quotes for a small concrete pool building in out back yard which unfortunatly is a lot more than we thought and means unless we can build ourselves, the dream won't become a reality. We can help you out with this and often supply the various components required by owner builders. We work with people on the design and engineering side and you can do the build. Then we measure and install the liner for you. The construct is with brick and render so very solid and cheaper and easier than concrete. It comes up great. You can check out the website www.addasplashpools.com.au and if you want to know more feel free to give me a call. 0418916188. One thing you may encounter in the hills is rock so worth keeping this in mind as it will add to your costs. Regards, Dave Re: Self build pool perth hills HELP 3Oct 23, 2016 3:51 pm Thanks David, the brick render is also an option, we would be happy with anything other than a fibreglass pool we also wouldn't have an issue with rocks where we item to build as we know that the previous owners of the block cleaned filled their existing above ground pool, we just need to dig it out again
