Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has built an infinity edge or wet edge pool?
Starting to think about the budget required for a 12m x 5m, with spa.
Thanks.

A starting price for that would be around $90000 Re: Infinity Edge / Wet Edge Pools 3Mar 29, 2016 2:51 pm wheeliworks How long is a piece of string . A starting price for that would be around $90000 Thanks for that. Are you a pool builder? What scares me is the potential tyling expense of it all! Re: Infinity Edge / Wet Edge Pools 4Mar 29, 2016 5:20 pm There are so many variables here. Site costs can vary depending how easy site access is, soil class, presence of any rock etc. Then the cost of tiling can vary depending on what tiles you select. Pool fencing is another variable. Frameless glass would cost more than aluminium etc. A friend of ours works for a large pool company so I've heard of wet edge pools costing anywhere between $80k to $300k. A few years ago friends of ours installed a large fibreglass pool and seperate in-ground spa. All up it cost $100k. That's including all the paperwork, fencing, paving, pumps and filters, heater, landscaping around the pool etc. A concrete wet edge of the same size would be substantially more. You will spend a few thousand just in building permits, engineering, plans, inspections and council asset protection permit. If cost is a concern I've heard you can get fibreglass wet edge now. I haven't personally seen them so can't comment on them but it may be worth looking into them. Luckily site access is easy, which definitely helps with the site costs. I appreciate the pointer on the fibreglass wet edge. It saves on the tiling expense and speeds up the installation of it all. Doing some quick research today, I have confidence I can achieve a great look at a reasonable cost. Re: Infinity Edge / Wet Edge Pools 6Mar 31, 2016 8:04 pm You still need to tile the waterline & spillway on a fibreglass infinity pool . If you are going to spend the money on a great looking pool you wouldn't skimp on the finish . You just don't need to tile the whole pool Here a few I prepared earlier Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Infinity Edge / Wet Edge Pools 7Apr 04, 2016 2:42 pm Thanks, some great examples there. Looking at a pool which was 4.5m wide on Saturday, my wife commented it wasn't wide enough for her tastes, so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up going for concrete anyway! Re: Infinity Edge / Wet Edge Pools 8May 10, 2016 9:11 am Hi, I have one and while I can't tell you what it cost because it was already in the home when I bought it - I understand the average is double the cost of the same pool without the wet edge. My contribution is its a challenge to maintain so add in the cost of regular pool servicing - I have issues with getting the water level right in both the pool and the drop pond and if this gets out of balance you end up with pool water spilling into your neighbour (eep) or the pump not working. I think I am attending to / resetting my pool filter two to three times a fortnight. Its more filters to clean as well. Worth it in the right environs.
