Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 30, 2016 6:04 pm Hello, I'm quite new here. I've been watching in the background. You guys have provided me with some very useful information in regards to pool builders. At this stage Domain Pools are on the top of my list as well as Compass. In saying this I'll tell you my requirements and was wondering if you guys could give me a better indication on how much my pool will cost. I'm after a very small "Plunge Pool" roughly 3x3, 3x2 or there abouts. The only problems that there is a sewer running directly trough the back yard. I'm sure we can still fit a pool in there as the next door neighbors have a pool. It might be slightly above ground. I understand i need to "Encase" the main and apparently costs extra. We should be able to get a small bob cat through the side to dig as well. We will be doing work to the house at the same time as I'm living with my mother in law at the moment anyway. Re: Sewer Running through my Property 2Jan 30, 2016 10:15 pm You will need to lodge plans with the council - part of which will require you to get a peg-out from a Sydney Water authorised rep which will cost you $500 or so. They send out a couple of guys who will give you the exact location of the sewer and how deep. Here is a couple of threads with diagrams similar to what you intend to do... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70982 viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69324&p=1129658 The diagrams show the kind of structural steps you will need to take before the pool goes in. Stewie Re: Sewer Running through my Property 3Jan 31, 2016 8:12 am We had a pipe marked on our back area - marked "sewer". It was a pipe that took water to the lagoon on the golf course - which we just re-routed for our pool. The arguments we had with people who said it had to be sewer ... You could see the sewer pipes clearly on the plans. BUT - if it is/was sewer it is a problem. SD sets it out nicely. Re: Sewer Running through my Property 4Jan 31, 2016 8:21 am Thank you for that information.
