Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Nov 12, 2015 3:35 pm Hi Everyone I am looking for the best price sealer to DIY seal our travertine pavers that are going around our saltwater pool (coping) and surrounding area - we have 60sqm in total We don't want a 'wet' look at all..... we don't want to change the colour in anyway possible....we also do not want any slippery results...in fact we are only sealing because we've been told we need to - otherwise i like the look of our travertine as it is... Any suggestions? Also, is it easy to do ourselves? Thanks Bec Re: Sealing Travertine around Pool and surrounding area 2Nov 13, 2015 7:19 am We have granite, which I have sealed myself myself. The process is very easy. First you need to make sure that the surface is very clean and totally dry. It needs to be rinsed and mopped to remove all marks. It is critical that it dry dries right through before sealing or moisture will be sealed inside the pavers. The sealer can be simply rolled on and then reapplied a few hours later. We purchased Spirits Natural Sealer from our supplier. It is a solvent based natural look sealer which penetrates the surface and won't change the appearance of the paver. However, we decided to change and go for the wet look. We ended up using Spirit Uni Seal which is a topical spirit based sealer. I have used it around our pool and it does not make the pavers slippery. Our pavers do have a rough surface to begin with. We love the wet look - it brings out all the different colours in the pavers. Only one downside is that it increases the heat absorption of the pavers .
