Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 May 11, 2015 2:24 pm I've been trying to determine exactly what I need to do and what I am allowed to do in regards to pool boundary fences, but it is still clear as mud. My predicament is this: bought a property with an existing pool: not sure exactly when it was built but at least fifteen years ago. The pool is at the front of the property and the site has been filled, such that the boundary fence is up to 2.4 m high from the sidewalk, but the inside is 1.2 or thereabouts. On the side the fence inside is about 1.2 but the outside is probably 1.8 to 2.4. So I want to re-do the front fence as it is looking old and has some cracking (it's concrete bricks). What I'd like to do is have a raised garden bed in the wall, such a concrete retaining wall up to about 1 meter on the outside (0.8 to 1.0) , come in about 0.6 m and build a 1.2 to 1.4 meter fence. Is this legal ? Is the pool fence no longer a "boundary fence", or does it have to be 1.8 regardless ? What is the set back required for a "boundary" fence to no longer be classified as a "boundary" fence ? Part 2: Will I be required to update the side fence between my neighbours and me ? I presume I have to bear the cost as it is a special fence for my site not theirs. Also, anyone know whether or not concrete sleepers with a stacked stone pattern is acceptable for a boundary pool fence. I'm guessing there may be issues if the stacked stone pattern has recesses greater than 10mm. Re: Boundary pool fence in Victoria 2May 11, 2015 7:15 pm What state are you in?
