Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 04, 2015 4:13 pm Gday All, Im always the one for asking weird and wonderful questions about DIY stuff, I've often pondered for hours then thought hopefully some one has been in my boat and thought of doing it a better and simpler way! I have a spa 2150mm x 2150mm that i need to lower into a 3200mm x 3200mm hole in the backyard which is 700mm deep. We can get the spa up to the hole in the backyard but I'm stuck from there. It weighs 450kg. Here is my dilemma…. *No access for a crane (spa will be brought in on its side down the side of the house) , can't get access thru neighbours house. *Dont want to cantilever it into the hole (don't want to damage it, let alone hurt or crush anyone in the process.) Dont want to use 6 strong men to lift it the hole or use ropes, someone always gets hurt. Looking for a safe way ! Someone must have done something like this in their previous life… Im happy to hire or buy something to assist me, money isn't an issue Thinking caps on guys!!!! Any help appreciated Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. The other way would be to put planks over the hole. set the spa to the correct location on the planks. Use a pulley on a tripod or beam between scaffolding and 1. lift the spa 2. remove planks 3.
