The demo guys are suggesting that if we want a lower quote we could empty the pool ourselves. Just wondering how easy our hard it is to do so? TIA Re: Draining a pool 2Jun 19, 2014 8:41 pm If you are going to demolish the pool its not as critical a job as it is if you intend the use the pool again You can buy a basic electrical submersible pump from a Local DIY warehouse for around $60 + as much hose as you need to get to a sewer discharge point. You shouldn't discharge chlorinated water to a drain and you should check with the sewerage authority if they have a a discharge limit. It could take between 12 and 24 hours to empty the pool. Laws have changed as to where you can run your waste pool water, but if you use the resource that was provided and approved when the pool was build you should have no trouble. another is to get a 40mm hose and connect it to the inlet side of your existing pump and to the lowest point in the pool.
