Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 May 19, 2014 9:04 am Hi, Just after some info on the pros and cons of the types of glass pool fencing. I prefer the look of frameless however I have heard and seen photos of the panels moving making the fence look out of alignment. Can anyone also tell me how sturdy these fences are, say if a soccer ball was kicked at it is there much movement? Is it right that semi-frameless is cheaper and stronger? Thanks S Re: Frameless vs Semi-frameless pool fence 2May 19, 2014 9:09 am sco77k Hi, Just after some info on the pros and cons of the types of glass pool fencing. Thanks S Semi is definitely cheaper. We were looking at frameless - but cost entered the equation. In all honesty - you don't notice the silver posts. One other issue is grounding/earthing. Depending on where the fence is you might have to earth the fence. If you do - every spigot (?) must be earthed - which is a nuisance. Not sure on strength - could be true. Glass is pretty tough though - either way. But - maybe go look at fences that are up - and see what you think. I'm happy with the semi. Re: Frameless vs Semi-frameless pool fence 4May 19, 2014 5:55 pm sco77k Thanks Saint Mike, do you have any photos of your semi frameless? No - but most of the net sites have them - https://www.google.com.au/search?q=pool ... 20&bih=919 Re: Frameless vs Semi-frameless pool fence 5May 20, 2014 10:17 pm Semi frameless is cheaper. Frameless looks looks nicer (IMO) but is more labour intensive hence the price. If you're core drilling your spigots into the ground, you need To have a concrete footing which adds $$. The panels shouldn't move if they're done correctly. They should all be I'm alignment when installed, and stay that way. Soccer ball into the glass won't do anything as the glass is toughened and generally only breaks if chipped at the corner. Re: Frameless vs Semi-frameless pool fence 7May 27, 2014 2:22 pm Wearemoving Hi @Saint Mike Were you happy with your installer, would you recommend them? Yes - but I'm in Qld ... One good source is to ask friends/neighbours with pools - and/or ask your pool people. They probably know a few good reliable fencers. Try the local pool shop too. I'd be a bit wary of just picking someone from the book or local paper. Re: Frameless vs Semi-frameless pool fence 8May 27, 2014 5:39 pm Hi Mike can you please pm me your fencer?
