Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 May 06, 2014 2:37 pm Hi All, We are considering a pool for our new home...the slab is already laid and the frame is up. I know there are rules in regards to the pool being the equivalent distance away as it is deep if the foundations have not been reinforced. Is this the same if we wanted to put it close to the alfresco? The alfresco was laid at same time as the main slab and is under roof. Thanks for you help. The alfresco is part of your slab just with a step down usually.A engineer will have to determine the angle of repose for underpinning your slab sometimes quoted as 45 degrees in clay but is different in sand/silt.If the shallow end is closer to the slab then this may reduce the depth of your underpinning.
