Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 22, 2014 8:13 am So I've decided to replace the pool fencing for a house I recently purchased and will be moving into in April . Seems virtually all of the handful of service providers I've made contact with say theirs is the best and that if I go with anyone cheaper I'll most likely end up having to have the job redone in a couple of years due to the use of inferior products , so i thought I'd get the opinions of those who have actually had this work done. Basically the fence is approx 8M in length + a 1M gate. The boundary fences and house taking care of the other 3 sides. Been quoted around $3,500 + $1,000 for the gate, supply and install. Questions I have are, 1. Who are some reputable suppliers in this field selling quality products and who won't rip me off? 2. Is that price above reasonable? 3. I've been told buy the most expensive spiggots I can afford. With that comment that suggests there's a lot of cheap crap out there. However, again, while it's all very well for a supplier to tell me that (after all his objective is to unload my wallet the fasteset way possible) how do I know I'm not being shafted? Thanks all Re: Glass Pool Fencing Sydney 2Jan 23, 2014 7:53 am For fully frameless, that price is reasonable. Our pool is located similarly, with boundaries and garage on 3 sides. 7m including a gate cost us $4,200 from Reflex Glazing. They did a decent job, but had to do it in two trips (a couple of weeks apart), because they forgot the gate latch the first time, and needed to grind down a corner on one of the glass panels that had been cut to a particular shape. I needed to chase them up to get them to do those last couple of items. Semi frameless would have been $3,100 so in the scheme of things given the total cost of our renovation and pool installation, the extra $1000 seemed worth it for the visual aspect of frameless over semi frameless. Re: Glass Pool Fencing Sydney 3Jan 23, 2014 9:33 am We were thinking glass as we didn't like the metal. We then went for glass with the grey/silver steel uprights - you barely see them and the cost plummets. Also - if you have to earth the fence - and you may - the uprights make it easier. Re: Glass Pool Fencing Sydney 4Jan 23, 2014 7:17 pm Doing some research for my house build led me to these sites: http://www.epicpoolfencing.com.au/semi- ... de-diy.htm http://www.dimension1glass.com.au/content/our-products http://www.seqglass.com.au/cheap-glass- ... -brisbane/ Going through these is going to work out significantly cheaper then getting my builder to do the same. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39045 Approvals are covered in the cost we are paying to the pool company. The only thing stated in our home build contract for the additional cost is engineering support. … 3 7119 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate. Appreciate it. Its gives us a very idea.
