Browse Forums Pools & Spas Re: Enviroswim for your pool 3Dec 12, 2013 5:28 pm It uses copper and silver ions to sanitise the pool water, and check the replacement cost of the electrodes!! http://www.enviroswim.com/order-now/ This method of sanitising the water has limits as too much copper in the pool water can cause staining, green water, and in the extreme, become bad for health. Do Google all this and learn about it. I'd personally recommend a salt-water pool based on 20yrs experience with ours. It does rot the pool pump in about 10yrs, but any pool requires replacements now and again. Re: Enviroswim for your pool 5Dec 20, 2013 8:10 pm My pool is eight years old and has never had one single chemical or additive put in the water, and it never will. It has no silver or copper. It has no uv. No salt No chlorine No bromine It just has a 460 watt pump circulating 230,000 litres of water through a bio-filter. Ph is 7.3-7.5 always, without adding anything. Hardness is 12 ppm. Alkalinity is 18.4 ppm. As determined by PoolWerx water test. The water is very healthy, and totally unsanitised. That's a decent sized pool J ! Re: Enviroswim for your pool 7Feb 13, 2014 11:34 am hey jeffr100rs thanks for posting and sorry for the late reply. So your pool just uses a bio filter and that's it? Does that mean you run the pump all year around for X number of hours a day? I'm still trying to figure this all out but I understand that generally a pump is run for twice as long in summer/swimming season as in winter. Plus what sort of maintenance do you need to do, I would guess not much if there's no chemicals, sounds fantastic. Thanks Re: Enviroswim for your pool 8Feb 13, 2014 7:56 pm Hey monster, I wrote a long reply and lost it unfortunately. I have a bio-filter, a fine filter and a pump. That's it. My 460 watt pump runs24/7 in summer. Maintenance is governed by the style of the pool. Formal needs to be kept smart. Natural looking can be much less maintained and yet look beautiful.
