Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Aug 12, 2013 3:26 pm Hey all, Well it's either procrastination or smart thinking, but we've been delaying the pool renovation all year until Spring. Now that we're almost there, it's probably the best time to get ideas and get underway. We currently have a 10x5 concrete in-ground pool, painted (old/peeling) with a row of tiles at the top and pebblecrete coping. Our plans are to: * Remove the pebblecrete coping * Re-tile the top row of tiles with mosaic tiles * Add new stone coping * New pool glass panel fencing * Acid wash and paint the pool (might do this myself) I have a carpenter friend who will potentially be building a deck around the pool up to the new coping. Question I have is does anyone have any contacts of reputable pool renovators that are reasonably priced and reliable? I have read the good and bad through the forums and would prefer advice from those that have already been there. A broader question, but what ballpark does one think I should begin to work with? Quite a vague idea on what this is going to cost me apart from the decking. I know pool painting can cost a bit so I'm going to give it a go myself. I'm in the Hills area (NSW). Cheers and thanks!! Vince Re: Pool Renovation 2Aug 20, 2013 11:33 am Ok so I got a quote back. I'll list the prices and if anyone can tell me the prices are justified, I'll think more seriously about going ahead.. but for the time being, I'm a little gobsmacked lol Waterline Tiles - remove existing and fit new tiles - supply new 25x25 @ $60sqm - 9sqm needed $3525 Travertine Coping - stick over top of existing pebblecrete coping - supply new 400mm @ $60sqm - 15sqm needed $4650 LED Pool Light - remove existing and install new $990 Pool Step - extend existing concrete step in shallow end to full width of pool $3275 Pool Deck - supply and install Merbau decking around pool perimiter to edge of coping - treated pine frame, 140mm board, seal before and after to prevent excess leeching - 33sqm area $8975 How does this all sound? I still need to take into account the pool paint costs which I'll be doing for $1400. I haven't even started to think about removing our existing ugly black pool fencing and install new glass 10mm semi-frameless fencing.. arghh!
