Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jun 29, 2013 9:16 pm We have recently installed a fibreglass pool and it also came with a fibreglass water feature. We are wanting to clad the water feature with stackstone bookleaf tiles as we have used this elsewhere in our pool area. Can anyone tell me what the best adhesive would be to use for sticking the stackstone onto the fibreglass water feature? My landscaper has tried one but the stackstone didn't stick properly and fell off into the pool. We are hoping to try something else that will actually work. If anyone has done this and could help I would be grateful. Thank you. Re: Fibreglass Water feature - covering in stackstone claddi 2Jul 13, 2013 6:43 am we have not tried for water feature but just an idea as stacker stone can be quite heavy and expensive, why not try the tiles that look like stone. we have it on a large wall at our entrance where if we had stacker stones they would not have stayed as too heavy. and also around our bbq area Re: Fibreglass Water feature - covering in stackstone claddi 3Jul 13, 2013 12:59 pm If you are trying to stick to a smooth gel coat on the fibreglass, adhesion will be difficult. Gel coat needs to be removed for best results. A coarse sanding disc on a 4 or 5 inch grinder is ideal. Depending on the particular circumstances of your job, the ideal adhesive will vary from 'liquid nails landscape' to a 'sikaflex' product. There are also many other high performance edhesives available.
