Yeah - but .... what about afterwards ? Re: Pool Box - for storage of Equipment etc 9Jun 09, 2013 10:11 am If your not too keen on DIY you could call a maintinance guy or handy man group who could put something together for you using materials that suit your space. the plastic ones do not last around the pool chemicals/water. could also look for a wicker or cane bench with removable cushion...often they have a cavity below and some are very large...seen these on a few builds but dont know where they purchased. OK - thanks. Re: Pool Box - for storage of Equipment etc 11Jun 18, 2013 1:20 pm I was thinking maybe a frame type thing - with a lid on hinges at the back - with a slope to the front - ie no sides to allow air etc - but a top cover that can be opened - propped open and also protects from the sun and weather. Re: Pool Box - for storage of Equipment etc 12Jun 18, 2013 4:37 pm Saint Mike You'd think with all the pools someone would be in this market ? There is - I've been quoted $2300 by my pool builder for a "pool filter box", which was described to me as being a colorbond box with foam sound proofing, 1.5m x 1m. I imagine there might be other things suitable, such as a dog kennel? I imagine there might be other things suitable, such as a dog kennel? http://www.thefilterboxcompany.com/page1.aspx We were quoted $1500 for a filter box by Domain Pools when they were building our pool and we thought it was too expensive, so we measured our neighbours filter box and done up some simple plans and then sent them to a metal fabricator to copy. We'll, after 4 adjustments and 4 months of trouble we got our box up and running at a total cost of $2900. Add $400 for an acoustic report to satisfy a council DA condition for noise suppression and we are way behind the original Domain Pools quote of $1500. Take my advice and don't build it yourself. I'm jealous of my neighbours one, it still functions better than ours and is lightweight. You can't beat Chinese made on price as I'm pretty sure they are mass produced. Re: Pool Box - for storage of Equipment etc 15Jul 30, 2014 1:59 pm I have to agree that plastic packing boxes are good to serve that purpose. Not only are they waterproof, but they are durable as well to ensure that your belongings stay safe and secure. Whether they are pool equipment or any other stuff, the concept of keeping the things inside and for them to last a very long time remains the same.
