Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jun 03, 2013 9:52 am Hi, while investigating heating options for pools I came across this product which sounds like black magic - supposedly an alcohol-based additive that forms a insulation layer on the surface of the pool and retains heat and reduces evaporation. From what I can gather via Google it's manufactured by Nylex and goes by the brand name "Heatsavr". Is anyone here using this type of liquid product instead of a pool blanket? Re: Anyone using a liquid pool blanket? (eg. Heatsavr etc) 2Jun 04, 2013 2:16 pm I use the heatsavr liquid in form of the ecosavr (disposable fish shaped dispenser). You can buy an automatic dosing system that uses the heatsavr liquid or you can use the ecosavr which contains the heatsavr liquid. It works well, cuts down on evaporation etc. You can't tell it's in the pool - no oily water or anything like that, cheaper than a pool blanket and it means you don't have to handle a pool blanket every time you use the pool. Much appreciated.
