Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Apr 30, 2013 5:39 pm Hi all We are in the process of building a pool. The plans are currently with council, and our neighbour is not happy about the position of the filter box (on the outside of our house just about on the boundary fence). He thinks it will be too noisy, which after talking to pool owners, I tend to agree with. When I raised it with our pool builder, he told me it must be 3.5 metres from pool water. Friends with a pool said theirs is just under their pool and certainly not 3.5 metres away from it! Can anyone help me with this? I can't find any regulations online regarding position of pool filters (which will be in an insulated box). We are in Sydney. Thanks Re: Pool filter must be 3.5m from pool? 2Apr 30, 2013 5:53 pm Maybe it is a pipe design issue to avoid a spaghetti junction effect but 3.5 metres is a lot. Ask him why. We fit a lot poolside in a water-feature or under pool when suspended. Re: Pool filter must be 3.5m from pool? 5May 04, 2013 1:20 pm Do they offer a filter more Eco friendly and quieter?
