Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Apr 13, 2013 10:17 pm Hello all. Today I picked up my 8.2 x 4.5 above ground salt water resin pool to be installed in Berowra, in the north of Sydney. Never having built an above ground pool before, the supplier recommended a professional install. To make the site level, he estimated an excavation cost of about 600 to 800 dollars. This includes digging a 6 foot deep end. Pool installation and plumbing / electrical I was told would cost about 2k. Its a good site with 4m side access and a fall of about .5m across the length of the pool. Soil to stay on site. Do these costs seem ok? I would welcome any advice. Also, can anyone provide advice and approx council prices / certifiers etc? Thanks so much! Greg. Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 3Apr 16, 2013 9:05 pm Excavation cost would be around $800 I don't install liner pools but would imagine closer to $3000 to install. Certifier including inspections around $1200 If the total value of work is over $5000 you need a owner builders permit Pool will need a complying fence Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Look forward to more pics. Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 9Sep 26, 2013 4:05 am There's about 30cm of water in the bottom....just to keep the liner stretched out. In a pool 8.2 metres long.... not a single crease or fold in the liner. Very happy. Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 10Sep 26, 2013 8:42 am Looking good so far! The 6yo couldn't wait....even in the 30cm of water. It was still a bit brisk for mine. It's unfiltered now so he will have to wait a bit. Decking and fencing starts next week then we can fill the pool when all certified and safe. Cheers! Re: Just bought an above ground pool. I guess we had the self cleaning set-up, water feature, heater etc. Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 13Oct 11, 2013 10:51 am Trying not to think about it mate. Now I need to get thin 14Oct 12, 2013 6:54 pm Oh, and I forgot the water board sewage peg out fees and consultants report. Almost 1200 just to tell me that I am within 3 m of the sewage main but it's ok to build. The deck is going to cost about 9k with boards and that's mates rates. I think 25k will be more than I spend but not much more. Honestly, if someone had told me I would never believe them. Could have bought a car! Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 16Oct 15, 2013 7:04 pm Hi Saint. Yep.... I know that the costs are ongoing. Fully accept that. But I can't help but think that it would be so much cheaper without the bureaucracy. Such inefficiency and its the owner who pays. These fees are crazy..... you can understand why people build unapproved structures. 2 Re: Just bought an above ground pool. Now I need to get thin 17Dec 24, 2013 8:24 pm Ok. Pool is kind of finished now. There are a few trim pieces to be painted but all of the screening is up and painted. In all, 3000 lineal meters of privacy screen. Not something I want to do again soon. Here are a few pics.....oh and Santa brought a slippery dip. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Just bought an above ground pool.
