Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Mar 22, 2013 8:56 pm hi! Here goes my 1st post... Have a question for anyone out there who has built a pool or who has done some research on putting in a pool and spa... we have already started building at stonecutters ridge (just started) BUT hope to put a pool in, in the near future... so i need to get some quotes... any suggestions on who to use and who to steer clear of? thanks Re: pool and spa 2Mar 23, 2013 7:38 am Do some research on sites such as not good enough , google the company with words such as complaints or problems. When you get quote ask for name & phone numbers of recent customers . Ring them up & look at their pools they will tell you if the experience was good or bad. Have a idea of what you want & where it is to go. Even though your building has started if you do decide to go ahead with a pool it's best to make sure no pipes or power go where pool is to go. Consider running power & gas to where filtration will go. Do you have a flat or steep block? Will pool be fully in ground or out? Cheers andrew Re: pool and spa 6Mar 26, 2013 5:03 am we are building with blue haven pools hunter/ north coast region they have branches in sydney. when they have done the job i will let you know what i think. we have the pool made and waiting to be delivered to coffs which is 15th april for delivery and the owner is the one installing the pool Re: pool and spa 7Jun 02, 2015 12:36 pm Hi Alimerc, We are also building in SCR and have just finalised our fixed price tender with Wisdom Homes. We have decided to go for a fibreglass pool and settled on Nepean Pools - they were reasonable with their pricing and we were able to get a fixed all in price (including fencing/paving/soil removal etc). We tossed up between fibreglass and concrete and given the developments in fibreglass and the fact they were giving longer warranties than the concrete guys, we settled on fibreglass. Re: pool and spa 8Jun 21, 2015 8:34 pm Hi Greg k. Just considering fibreglass as well. Looking at compass pools, leisure pools, and narrellan pools. Can you tell me what size n design you went with? Your approx price? Thank you. We are looking at a 8x3-3.6mtr pool down the side of our house. Re: pool and spa 9Jun 21, 2015 8:59 pm Troyfitz Hi Greg k. Just considering fibreglass as well. We decided to do everything with the pool company so pool, installation, soil removal (this is extra), upgraded filtration, gas heating, automatic cleaner, paving (about 20m2) and frameless glass fencing and the quote came through at 43k. We were a tad limited as the width of the pool couldn't really be wider than 2.3m but of the quotes we asked for Nepean were very easy and straight forward to deal with. They also run an excavation and concreting business so was hoping we might do things like driveway etc through them. Re: pool and spa 11Jun 22, 2015 11:46 am Thank you Greg_K. Awesome.. will definitely be checking them out... We are going to try and get a credit back for our driveway.. I will use that with Nepean if they get my Pool tender. I really appreciate your advice mate. Shambini, May I ask what your costs were? Re: pool and spa 12Jun 23, 2015 10:32 pm Troyfitz Thank you Greg_K. Awesome.. will definitely be checking them out... Around $42k including the sun pod, solar blanket, lighting, electric heat pump, glass media filter and pre filter. In addition we will still need to do the coping and tile the sun pod. Slimline 8.2 x 3. We were told by sales staff that we need a mtr on either side Of the pool. We have 5 mtrs between our planned house and the fence. Was just wondering if your builders have any provisions such as this? Re: pool and spa 14Aug 18, 2015 11:47 am We had a pool but we needed to downsize that one as the weather of canberra does not really help . So, we contacted the guy our neighbors used to call. Got their web address as well www.adeptpoolservices.com.au . He guided us through our downsizing and is currently giving the servicing for the pool as well . So far so good ( fingers crossed ) :p Re: pool and spa 15Aug 19, 2015 12:03 pm Hi Troyfitz, Sorry mate, i didn't see your reply. Not sure if you still need an answer but that should be ok to fit in that space. You need 1.2m from the boundary fence and minimum 0.5m from the wall of the house. I think if you are closer to the side of your house than the depth of the pool you will likely need additional piering and an engineers certificate. Your builders can provide all this information and pricing. 3 3554 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate. Appreciate it. Its gives us a very idea. Kind Regards 4 3645 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise. We are about to build an above ground pool in our backyard. There is a private sewer line running under the pool at 1.6m… 0 11731 |
