Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Mar 04, 2013 10:59 am Hi, we have had a fibreglass pool installed on a slightly sloping site, and rather than step down the aluminium pool fence we have kept it at one level, which requires soil fill to be put under at the lower levels. Is there anything in the regulations about compacting of the soil or does anyone see any issues we might have with inspection? How far outside the fence would the soil have to be raised for compliance? Many thanks. Re: Soil fill under pool fence 3Mar 09, 2013 6:37 pm There is no regulation it is up to discretion of the inspector. I would normally put some bricks or rock under then soil on top. I have seen a case where there was a small build up only directly under fence panel & inspector pushed it away & said make it a little bit better Re: Soil fill under pool fence 5Mar 30, 2013 2:10 pm Who is responsible here -does your fence/pool builder have to get the approval ? Re: Soil fill under pool fence 6Apr 01, 2013 11:57 am Unfortunately because we built the aluminium pool fence ourselves we would be responsible for heights and positioning. If we had used a fence construction company they would have had to address this issue, I'm assuming. Re: Soil fill under pool fence 7Jul 07, 2013 12:40 am From memory the Australian standards say 'no soil' under a pool fence. It does say gravel and turf are acceptable. Sounds like the standards are getting turfed out the window in favour of an 'inspectors whim'. Can't see that working too long. 2 4349 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5294 If you're in a flood zone, not only are you dealing with the importation of fill and laying it down in 150 lifts to achieve compaction, you're going to have to consider… 4 5532 |
