Imagine a rectangle block with (virtually) a rectangle house. Block rear is due north facing. Pool is to go in back, left corner - so long side facing north but it has all angles but south. It will get morning sun and afternoon sun. I'm not overly keen on west sun but I like morning sun on pool.
