Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 10, 2013 2:54 pm We are planning and extension and *eventually* may want to add a fibreglass pool/deck in the back yard. The problem is, we are on a corner block and the powerlines are on our side of the street on both roads. There isn't much clearance on one side of the house (1.5m max), and once the extension is done, roughly the same on the other side. Normally they would just crane it over the house (it would be roughly 35 metres from the curb to where the pool is going). Just curious as to what people think our options are in this situation, I'm assuming the powerlines will be an issue? Re: Install pool before extension? 2Jan 10, 2013 4:38 pm I would check with the local power company supplier. I have seen power lines isolated due to some construction processes, such as scaffolding built close to the lines. The power company may be able to advise you of any problems that may be encountered. I wonder if it will be a problem for building the second story extension as well.
