Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Oct 23, 2012 6:26 am So, we are hoping to get a pool installed and just trying to add up the endless different costs involved. We have to get a DA for the pool installation, but does this include the fencing, or is this a separate application? We are in Sydney, in the Penrith Council area. Thanks Re: New Pool instalation and fencing 2Oct 23, 2012 9:48 am Qld here - but yes - I understand. Will pool people - who do fences - give a price equal to others - eg fence people. Re: New Pool instalation and fencing 3Oct 23, 2012 9:54 am We are in QLD, we just went to the pool company and said we want a quote for a pool incuding EVERYTHING, council application, fencing, water, tiling etc. They are handling all the applications and everything, it probably costs more than if you did it yourself but for me it was worth saving myself the stress! I've filled out enough forms to last a lifetime! I think you definitely have to ASK them to include it though, they probably don't as standard? 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: New Pool instalation and fencing 4Dec 01, 2012 1:21 pm stellabella We are in QLD, we just went to the pool company and said we want a quote for a pool incuding EVERYTHING, council application, fencing, water, tiling etc. They are handling all the applications and everything, it probably costs more than if you did it yourself but for me it was worth saving myself the stress! I mean show the price for the fence separate ? I don't fancy doing it myself. Re: New Pool instalation and fencing 6Dec 03, 2012 7:17 am tengals do it yourself and you will ,most likely save 50-100 % off the price of the glass fence. But - approvals may be harder ? New Pool instalation and fencing 7Dec 03, 2012 8:26 am In Perth, your council approves your pool fence plan based on where you draw it on the site block and writing to Australian Standard # next to it, no specification of material. The fence is then followed up and inspected by The Royal Life Saving Society Building again . . with Redink Pre-start 04/12 Keys - 03/13 Finishing off. . . But - approvals may be harder ? nope not really.... sure, there is more to do on your part, making sure its reg and all, but approvals would be no different from a diy'ers point of view. Your state governing pool body will/would have all the 1926, 2208 etc relevant standards applicable. Normally these are in a really simple do's and don'ts style brochure. Also, a good relationship with the "sign off" party is good especially before you begin, to make sure everything will be reg and covered.
