Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Apr 13, 2012 9:21 pm Just read this today - a well known pool company have apparently been placed into administration (witholding name due to terms of use). Not sure if it effects all states or just NSW. We are not using them for our pool but this article caught my eye today when reading the paper. Hopefully no one here is effected. The article link is attached. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/ipad/pool-c ... 6325298397 If the link doesn't not work, google the link and see if that works. It was an article written by Phil Jacob of the Herald Sun, published today. In any case, thought I better warn H1 users in case someone might be effected or ends up signing with them without knowing this information. If anyone is thinking of using them might be worthwhile to dig a little further to see if the facts of the article are accurate or not. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Shame on the Herald! The independent Blue Haven franchisees wish to set the record straight. The incorrect reports have nothing what so ever to do with what is an extremely viable business which maintains the titles as Australia's largest Pool Builder. The recent administration of Pool and Spa Builders (Aust) Pty Limited was a voluntary appointment by the company to facilitate the retirement for long time industry pool builder, Ray Awadallah. The company, Pool & Spa Builders (Aust) Pty Limited has not traded for over 12 months and has remained entirely dormant during this period. Appropriate arrangements have been made to ensure that any matters arising are dealt in the course of the company’s closure. Additionally, staffing, financial and warranty obligations have all been honoured well in advance of the company’s administration. It is important to note that each Independent Blue Haven Franchise Owner is unaffected by the above closure. Each Blue Haven Franchise is independently owned by recognised local pool builders who will continue to trade under the Blue Haven Pools brand. The Independent Blue Haven Franchise Owners will continue to generate a strong currency for the entire pool industry; not limited to advertising, industry association membership, consumer / trade shows, community events, employment opportunities and a sizeable supply chain trade commitment. In his retirement, Ray Awadallah will spend more time with his family and pursue many of his interests. Absolute disgrace, the HS should get their facts right before they plunge a company into this type of turmoil, loose talk could put the company under and put all their customers at risk.. But Blue Haven needs to remove that ancient $100,000 competition from it's website too - it ended in December. In fact, it has led me to investigate and be very weary of my current pool builder and make sure that I am undertaking the right amount of diligence. For example, my pool builder's supervisor has stated to me this week that they have not planned our excavation as yet and are unable to give me a date. The supervisor has mentioned to us that many pool companies are going broke because of the recent rain in Sydney. He has also mentioned that they excavate, then three weeks later concrete the shell. If it rains, then we need to get into the hole and drain the water. When we all the office they say something completely different. He has aso said that we will need to pay for extra excavation and we pay the excavation contractor in cash, don't pay the pool builder. All if this is reeking of incompetent, unreliable and skeptical/suspicious behavior. None of this was explained at the time of contract. None of it makes sense. It worried us when they said they needed extra $1200 cash for a sewer peg out but ( before it was approved) when I asked for a friend who works for the water authority, he said it would cost a fraction of that cost. When i advised the poool builder that I would arrange peg out, I was told it was no longer required. The pool builder thrives on advertising that their management is emailed directly with customer issues but, as yet, they have not bothered to get involved or even reply to an email. Their ads are all spin. So, I am not surprised of the reports. We were initially comfortable with the builder. They had solid reputation, endorsement and have been in business for many years. Now, we are very weary and onto them like a rash. I have no confidence that they will deliver. Will keep you posted. Buyer beware! I use Tramex moisture meter and it will tell me instantly if the wall is cement sheet or plaster or masonite but most people dont have the equipment. 5 7157 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11964 8 6226 |
