Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Mar 12, 2012 2:07 pm Hiya Can someone provide a guestimate on how long it takes to put in a fibreglass pool. I am talking from signing to when the pool is in the ground. I know there are heaps of variables. My neighbours are due to start building in around 5 weeks and want to know if I can get it in time. We are looking at either narallen or leisure pools and are at rouse hill (Blacktown council) Many thanks Jasie Re: Pool installation time 2Mar 12, 2012 2:11 pm Depends on how busy the contracters are. We are going with Horizon pools (they use aqua technics pools and also do not use subbies, plus have seen 2 brilliant pool installs) he can squeeze us in 5 weeks from now for what will take 2 days for install on an internal measured 9.3 x 4.1. Are you happy with Narellan etc? I called both copanies and I wasn't filled with much confidence on the phone. Re: Pool installation time 3Mar 12, 2012 4:33 pm Thanks CBPH. I guess it depends from state to state but Narallen have a good reputation (I believe) in NSW.They also dont use contractors but have full time staff. We have some friends who had their pool done by them and had nothing but good things to say. I think everyone knows that leisure pools had some problems with contractors in QLD but I dont believe it is the case in NSW. I think they would both do a decent pool, just worried about the deadlines... Re: Pool installation time 4Mar 13, 2012 2:28 pm How long is a piece of string? Theoretically, you can have your pool installed in less than 2 weeks from the time you sign up (with Narellan, anyway). We got a Narellan pool installed last year (Madeira 6, bermuda blue) & are extremely happy with it. There was a 2-3 week delay from signing up to installation due to continuous rain, but once here it was fully installed within 2 days. Coping was done about a week or two later. Talk to someone from Narellan or Leisure & find out what sort of time frame you can expect (if they are having a quiet period & the weather is favourable, they can often begin almost immediately). Another thing to consider, regarding the time frame, is whether the pool company already has what you want in stock. If the pool shell has to be specially made for you (as with us), then that will obviously take extra time. On the whole, we found the people at Narellan Yatala Qld branch to be experienced & very helpful. Also, there was only narrow side access to our backyard for them to use (& established houses either side of us). They used a mini excavator to dig the hole (day 1) & craned the pool in over the house (day 2). This was at no additional cost. Helicoptering your pool in is another matter, however. Hope this helps. http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w471/kezacheekychicken/IMG_2691.jpg http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w471/kezacheekychicken/IMG_3550.jpg Tiling is still a work in progress. I just found some companies horrid to deal with and refused to answer basic questions. taylor CBPH....what state do you live in? Vic Re: Pool installation time 11Mar 20, 2012 3:03 pm Hey pussycat, shouldn't you be stalking something a bit smaller than a chicken??? It was a little daunting watching our pool swinging in the breeze, but I must say it was over & done with pretty quickly (so not much time to wonder about the "what if..."). In Melbourne it wouldn't have been as straighforward, as the crane's distance from the overhead powerlines is fine for Qld, but not in Vic. I need to replace the worn mohair seal on my sliding window, but I can't get access to the end to slide the old one out & push the new one in. I could probably rip the old… 0 5184 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6128 |
