Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 08, 2012 9:48 am I have been using pool stabiliser (cyanurate) for years and now wonder if it is necessary for the way we use the pool. We only take the blanket off either to use the pool late afternoon when the sun is off the water or overnight to cool the pool down. So it seems to me that stabiliser is not needed. The chlorine level seems to stay quite good on a sunny day if the pool blanket protects the pool from direct sun. Cyanurate means that one has to run the pool at higher levels of chlorine in order to the chlorine to be effective. Any similar experiences out there?
