Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Dec 17, 2007 12:05 am Hi everyone not sure where I should be asking this question but could anyone help me? We are wanting to put a outdoor spa in 5 or 6 seater with neck jets has anyone any idea of a good brand of Spa's to look at or any we should avoid???
Thank you in advance Di Re: Outdoor Spa 2Jan 03, 2008 7:08 am Hi Di
I don't think there are any bad spa brands out there now. Most of them were culled in the early 90's when spas fell out of fashion for a while. The big brands are signature, Lanark and Monarch in WA I am not so sure about the rest of the country. From a design point of view spas are a mathematical nightmare, and frankly most of them don't calculate out correctly. The industry is still touchy feely rather than engineering based. I would definitely consider visiting my preferred retailer several times during the selection process and see if you happen to coincide with a customer complaint so you can observe how they deal with it. Re: Outdoor Spa 3Jan 03, 2008 7:29 am In-laws recently got one from a small independant - but it's the same model as some of the larger guys supply. The install, service, and backup has been fantastic - absolutely first class & all care taken during the delivery & install, full explanation about all the controls & how to look after the water quality, and all the service info.
They had a recent 'no go' situation with it. The rep came out, flicked the safety switch reset - and it worked. Feeling rather sheepish, they apologised to him, and were happy to leave it at that & see him out the door, but he went a lot further - suggesting it won't trip without a reason, and did some investigating. Little did they know, it had actually developed a fault in the pump (a 3rd party item). No hassles, no arguments, he simply rang the office & they sent the repair guy out that afternoon to fix it, no questions asked. In comparison, we bought ours a few years earlier from a very large dominant supplier who also do pools. The sales service was great, but once they had the money, service, backup & warranty went downhill very fast. Here's my experiences with them: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=3102 Re: Outdoor Spa 4Jan 03, 2008 9:58 am Yeah, Lanark and Signature both looked good, as did Saphire and Jacuzzi (I'm pretty sure they're both actual Brand names).
Di, what side of Melbourne are you on?
