Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Feb 06, 2011 9:36 pm Hi, I am looking to get a pool sometime this year and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any builders down my way (Or any to steer clear of). Also interested in hearing what people have paid and if they have a breakdown of costs to see where the money goes? Also what is the expected maintenance costs? approx $10-$20 per week? Thanks in advance! Re: Pool builders in Wollongong area 2Feb 07, 2011 6:34 pm I can recommend Narellan Pools. I can also say, stay away from the one with an elephant in their adverts, I have dealt with them over several years(work related) and constantly hear of rip offs and complaints. Re: Pool builders in Wollongong area 3Feb 07, 2011 6:45 pm Thanks for the reply! Dont Narellan only do fibreglass? I havent decided either way but wanted to keep my options open... Are you a pool builder down this way or can you suggest any others worth looking at? Thanks Re: Pool builders in Wollongong area 4Feb 07, 2011 6:58 pm I am not a pool builder, my sister and two of my friends used Narellan Pools and they were all very happy with them. I think they only do fibreglass. Personally if I was going build a concrete pool I would use a small company/family business type set-up, less overheads, would most likely take more pride in their work and have better relationships with their subbies. Search through my posts on here, I have posted previous about the cons and rip offs some builders try on, I am not sure if I can name them on here so I won't, I use to subbie out to a certain pool company installing fencing and solar heating the scams are shocking. Re: Pool builders in Wollongong area 5Feb 07, 2011 7:16 pm I'll have to look up some smaller concrete ones but still may check out fibreglass.. Which Narellan branch was used by your siste and friends? I havent got any quotes yet but do you know roughly what they paid?
