Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Sep 02, 2010 6:02 pm Hello, Am building house at Hammond Park, got a 672m2 block house approx 270-320m2 will have lots of room in the back. Was wondering it seems no builder wants to know us when we talk indoor pool. Is it possible maybe post building to get inde pendent builder to build an extension slightly cheaper with in indoor pool? Anyone here done an indoor pool? Owner builder style? What are the things i need to think of when i speak indoor pool Regards sij Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 2Sep 02, 2010 6:33 pm Hi sij Our cousin was a owner builder and built an indoor pool. It is actually part of their lounge room, so I suppose you could say the pool is in the house itself The pool is still not finished due to the horrendous $$$$$$$$$$$$$'s it is going to take them to complete it. They have the shell but no water and they have been in the house for about 2 years. I am not surprised that builders will not do this. Sorry I cannot be of much help but from my understanding, it will literally cost you a small fortune and you may have to look at some of the top custom home builders for a quote. Good luck and I hope you get answers from other forum members who have successfully done this Mrs B Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 4Sep 02, 2010 10:37 pm Hi, A very good friend of mine is looking at a very similar situation. I would suggest speaking to a reparable pool builder first and ascertaining who they have dealt with. We are currently building a pool with dolphin and very happy with the service so far.. Cheers. Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 6Sep 05, 2010 7:10 pm we do a few of them. some do the pool first then build around it . we are supplying two pool shells in 4 weeks which the customers left a gap in the concrete floor when house was built. only prob is one of them didnt allow for the plumbing so he will need concrete saw to do a trench for pipework. cheers andrew Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 8Sep 09, 2010 9:58 pm hi sij i am austrailian kit pool sales . we supply miami pools you will need to show builder engineers plan & describe what you are hopping to achieve. a competent builder will work with you . you will need good ventilation dont use gyprock on walls or ceiling .if frames are steel rust mainlywhere screws are fitted can be a longterm problem. depending on size of room it is often better to use a ironiser rather than a chlorinator . if filtration equipment & heater is to be located outside pipework can be installed before slab & walls are done. you als need to consider the run off water from splashing. either a dish drain all round or a slope on concrete around pool the 2 jobs comming up are in cabberra & hobart. generally i find smaller builders more flexable than project type builders cheers andrew Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 9Dec 17, 2010 9:57 am Anyone got a rough price on an indoor pool? Pool size about 10m x 5m. Planning a house on a 2000sqm block and there's certainly space for the pool, just not sure if it's worth the cost (sounds like I'm looking at around $40,000?) Planning a house on a 2000sqm block and there's certainly space for the pool, just not sure if it's worth the cost (sounds like I'm looking at around $40,000?) that's a pretty big pool.. if you can get it for 40k that is a bargain.. I would have thought double that for a pool that size and indoor. Re: Indoor pool Advice Please 11Dec 19, 2010 10:13 am We did some landscaping for a client with an indoor pool and the room its in needs to be the same temperature or warmer than the pool water.
