Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Jan 25, 2010 12:41 pm We've just gone out and order a lovely brand new luxury above-ground spa, it's being delivered on the weekend. It's only just dawned on me that we have to fence it. The spa will be in a fully enclosed backyard, we don't have children and don't really know anyone who does, the chances of a child ever being in our backyard are miniscule. However, the law is the law. The backyard is accessed by an auto garage roller door, and there are french doors, sliding door and opening windows near to the ground that would be impossible to secure with childsafe locks. We're in Victoria. So I don't think there is any escaping a purpose built fence around the spa area? If we have to fence, I do want to go either frameless glass or semi-frameless, can anyone give me an approximate cost for a compliant fence and a gate, it will be 2 sides of a rectangle, 3 metres and 2.5 metres? And if anyone has recently installed a fence can you recommend a good company in Melbourne? Re: Pool/spa fencing 3Jan 25, 2010 9:28 pm Hi Mishb, We have just done the finishing touches to our SPA area but i am in Qld though. I am sorry to say but you do have to have fencing for outdoor SPAs whether inground or portable. We just jumped through all of the hoops to get ours right. If you have a look at this link, it tells you all of the regulations - http://www.watersafety.vic.gov.au/CA256 ... Fences.pdf I hope this helps you. 3 3561 Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39045 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6159 |
