Browse Forums Pools & Spas Re: pool info 2Jan 17, 2010 5:08 pm fibreglass pools can be above ground.decking can be either butted up agaings the coping or over top of coping. a flat bottom design works best but a deep end is possible . fibreglass pools have been fitted to decks, roof tops & appartment buildings pool cost is apx 50% more than a standard shell but instillation is much less . you need to factor in cost of concrete slab.

They suggested we have pool out of ground to match out balcony. House is on a slope. Ours would be roughly out of ground by 1mtr. He said they have to pour a slab, around $600 dollars. Plus retaining wall etc and that would be around 10K. So its not a cheap option. They quoted around $50k. Pool alone on their website was $17K so its a big jump. Out the laundry you walk up probably ten steps to get to the yard. Then there is the metre i was saying to the balcony on the second floor. Does that help?
