Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Dec 15, 2009 3:21 pm Our plans are in council at the moment and we have been advised that we need to make modifications to the pool and resubmit. Namely need to add and extra 300mm between the back wall of the house and the fence and also need to have 1000mm between the waterline and the fence along that same fence line. Other boundaries and clearances are OK. We need to have walk way access past the back of the house so the dog can get through, but to meet those measurements I need to cut down the width of my pool to 2100mm (water width). We really have our heart set on a pool and want to keep it if we can. Please vote This is the pool as per current plans. http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab75/andy_min/LandscapePlanOct09.jpg Option 1- Leave Pool as is and increase the fence height to 2 metres near back wall of house (if council will allow) Option 2- Get rid of the pool and get a spa instead Option 3- Reduce the pool width to 2100mm http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab75/andy_min/poolV3-1.jpg Option 4- Add more room at the ends of the pool with a beach area but run the fence closer than 1000mm (if council will allow) http://i851.photobucket.com/albums/ab75/andy_min/poolv3.jpg Still waiting to speak to council to see what my options are. In their DCP, the pool is suppose to be 1.5m away from the boundary. (I think 1m is easily sufficient). I'd love to have a lap pool down the track, but it's really only possible for me if the pool could be 1m from the fence. So fingers crossed you can get it through 0.9m away! Re: To Pool or not to Pool 3Dec 17, 2009 2:07 pm Good News..... Council is happy for me to move the pool back, I just need to make sure I have 1 metre from fence to water line. The fence still needs to be 1.2 from the back wall of the house and I need at least 1 m from the water line around the other sides. So I will have the plans amended and re submit tomorrow. Everything crossed my land settlement should be happening any minute.
