Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Nov 30, 2009 6:23 pm Hello!! DP and I have been discussing the option of having a tiny pool in the back yard eventually. Wouldn't be for hardcore swimming, but more for lolling around in on 30 degree plus days, and maybe some spa jets. Problem is, we have a very narrow back yard and wouldn't be able to / want to build anything more than about 2m wide / 4m long. This limits down the number of options we have, plus we're both fussy Looked online at options and of course you can buy CD's from America that will tell you how to do it, but wondered if anyone here had had a crack at building their own concrete pool? DP is a commercial builder, so he's got a bit of techie know how, but hasn't ever been involved in pool building before. It sounds pretty easy in theory, but I reckon the reality might be somewhat different! Thanks in advance! How much does it cost to crane a pool over a house? i d yes i'm in the pool industry. craning a pool over a house varies depending on distance, roof height , where crane can be set up, power lines & if trafic control is required. its best to get a few quotes as they vary a lot. between $600 & $8000. in some cases a helecopter is a good allternative around $3000- $4000 cheers Re: Pools - has anyone built their own? 8Dec 23, 2009 10:15 pm Think I could ride in the pool while the helicopter cranes the pool in?
