Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Nov 10, 2009 7:37 am Does anyone know where i can find a list of the requirements for the new Pool Fencing Regulations in Qld that start in Dec 2009. We have an outdoor Spa which now comes under the same regulations as any Pool. I know what we have to do ( i think) but i saw somewhere, for example that the bars on that tubular pool fencing have to be a certain thickness and that buying second hand fencing is not a good ideas as some are made too small. So a list of what material you can use etc would be helpful. We also have to submit a Building Application to the Council which is going to cost $750 with 3 drawings of where it is going to go etc. Then there is a new thing now where you have to get some certificate thing from the Health Dept to say the pump on the Spa is sufficient for the amount of water that flows through it, to do with Bacteria and that is a $95 fee. So any input would be appreciated because we want to put the fencing up our selves but don't want to buy the wrong fence/materials etc. Oh and i had a look at one of the links on another thread here and it did not mention that Spas now come under the same category as pools, but it was for NSW and i am in QLD. I thought the whole idea of these new rules was to bring every state into line and have the same rules through out Australia????? Am i right with that or is it still going to be different in each state???
