Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Oct 09, 2009 9:06 pm This is my first post, so hopefully works out OK Am looking at putting in an 8 x 4 pool and quote came in at $50k including coping, New Zealand pebble, cleaning equipment, filter box, lights, pumps and solar heating, although electrical connections, council fees and frame on top. In Sydney. Very reputable supplier - not Blue Haven or similar. Does this sound reasonable? Any ideas on how much solar heating costs? Am trying to reconciled to the $20k Blue Haven offer to see how much I am paying for a reputable supplier Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 3Nov 01, 2009 9:06 am i think it depends on how much you wish to spend and if you will use it alot, for us we were going to put in a inground pool but the $50,000 was not reasonable for us as we feel we could spend that money elsewhere,But all the same would have loved a inground pool, we decided on a above ground one instead at a cost of about $5,000,As we will revisted the inground pool option in a few years.as we have a teenager son we where a bit worry also would not get used enough too.I t was not the amount of money. We have had two perious inground pools at our last two homes a fibreglass and concrete they are great fun that is for sure finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 4Dec 22, 2009 8:36 pm just remember the $29k difference at the start but you will probably pay more when finished if pool is a standard shape go with fibreglass Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 5Dec 23, 2009 12:16 am We bought a 10m x 4.1m Conquest Pool in kit form - came with everything we needed and paid installer direct to install the pool. We've spent $35k on everything - pool, installation, concreting, paving, fencing (glass and tubular), solar heating, plants and pebbles, permit and water. We saved alot of $$ doing it this way rather than a company doing it all for us. See this thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=23972&hilit=pool Happy at Home Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 6Dec 23, 2009 8:33 am Free will get a new quote. Here is our spec just quoted last week. Full concrete. Extra formwork around the edges for us to mount a wall on top of. (3 places) 12.5M x 2.4M Piped and ready for solar heating (but not the rest). In floor piped (but not getting the main parts, we can get later tho). Coping tiles. Bullnose pavers around the top. 3 Halogen lights, they said don't waste money on the LED's. Pebblecrete. 2-3mm. All the pumps and filters. I dont have the paperwork with me here, so cant quote exactly what they have allowed for but another quote came in a 66k. This one. $41K Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 7Dec 23, 2009 9:39 am I just finished my pool reno and would recommend the LED lights. I have 2 niche spa electrics colour changers in a 65000 ltr inground concrete. I have 3 friends who have since replaced their haolgen lights with these after seeing mine lol. The light is fair superior, almost like the water is 'glowing'. The running cost is also about 15% of halogens and are rated at 100000 hours. I think they don't want you to 'waste' money on LEDs because they want you to keep buying replacement haolgens from them! Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 8Dec 23, 2009 11:16 am I work next to a commercial electrical supply that we have an account with. The replacement bulbs are around $8.00. If the LED light system gets water in it, you need to replace the whole unit apparently. Also for an extra $1200.00 we figured it was not worth it. Re: New Swimming pool - cost reasonable? 10Dec 23, 2009 6:48 pm i wouldnt sell a pool with globes better of getting good garden lights . . if you want good pool lighting use leds. three collour changing ones with remote control will cost around $1600 . leds have very long life The last home I lived in didn't have a pool and when i went to sell it the agents were not happy, even telling me to put one in to sell the place. The agents weren't happy… 2 4239 Seems good to me. I've been told $4-5k/sqm is reasonable in Perth. 2 11169 |
