The builder has asked to dig the hole 1 m away from the building line and the rear boundary, is that ok? 2. If I do a big fixed glass window near the Alfresco (facing the pool) will it be ok? Will I need to do additional fencing for the pool? 3. Alternatively, If I do a big 3* sliding door, will that be ok? will it need additional fencing for the pool? 4. Any Blacktown LGA council rules that need to be taken care of at this stage? Pool will be 1 m away from the boundary and the building line? Is that ok? I've been reading about 1.5 setback online and have seen pool having less than 1.5m, this is confusing me. 5. Will the house need extra piering? 6. We were thinking 2.5 * 6 any other ideas or sizes you suggest? Let me know if we need to add any specific instructions for the builder in the contract / tender stage. You need a barrier between the pool and house, 1m is not enough. The rules are very complicated. I assume the house is built so it may be a challenge to change things like window positions. As mentioned the rules appear to be complicated by some common sense does play a part. Distance to the boundary restriction could also be engineered out with your neighbours written consent. All this equals extra money and time.
