Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Feb 03, 2021 12:51 pm We have just had a fibreglass pool put in and now that the coping has gone on, it is clear that the pool sits significantly proud of the rest of the site. Given that we paid for an inground pool I would have thought there shouldn't be any need for a step. Our land is not a sloping site. I have tried to look at the legal requirement which is listed as installation standard AS1839 listed on the contract, but it's impossible to find the standard online (without having to pay for it). Has anyone had a similar experience? Re: Inground pool level 2Oct 23, 2021 1:42 pm Your levels should have been on your plan or discussed with you before installation of your pool This is poor workmanship on behalf of the pool installer without consulting you as to your future landscaping requirements and FFL (Finished Floor Levels) which would have determined the finished height of the pool. It would not have cost any more to the have pool height a step lower, however it seems a complete lack of consultation has occurred. Re: Inground pool level 3Oct 23, 2021 3:25 pm considering you have not mentioned how high or whether you will be using concrete or decking around pool it is near impossible to give advice, are we talking 10 cm or 30 centimetre above grade note the pool must be higher than the surround or when it rains runoff will contaminate your pool Re: Inground pool level 4Oct 24, 2021 7:08 am A case of capitalising on the ignorance of a first time pool owner and me thinking that the ‘experts’ will do things properly. They acknowledged it wasn’t set deep enough. Unfortunately you don’t know what to specify or ask until it’s too late. 1 16460 Thanks! I'm spoke to the builder I'm not sure if this is all true but basically went along the lines of they considered all options and if I was to compact and fill it… 2 16897 |
