Browse Forums Pools & Spas 1 Oct 29, 2020 6:41 pm Hi, We have a property built on a very steep slope. The concrete in-ground pool is located at the bottom of the block some 10m below the house. After heavy rain that persists for a few days, our pool turns dirty. I am thinking it is either sorry surface water running in or groundwater pressure building up due to the slope and coming up through the hydrostatic value. Any people with a similar issue or thoughts on how to fix? I don't want to dig our ag drains on the slope between the house and pool if they won't be deep enough to to help the issue. If it is groundwater and with an existing pool, is there any way to fix? Thanks in advance Andrew Re: Pool fills with dirty after heavy rain over multiple day 2Nov 25, 2020 1:55 am It was not a good idea to build a pool on a very steep slope. It's definetely groundwater but I have no idea what whould be done. If the slope is very steep then the water will move quickly downhill. Can you do something to slow it and move the water to where you want rather than towards the pool. Maybe creek bed looking landscaping that carries the water to where you want it to go?
