Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks Re: Glass splashback vs tiles 21Sep 23, 2008 10:24 pm I saw in a recent catalogue for a BIG hardware chain that they have DIY glass splashbacks for around the $200 price. I think the measurement was something like 650mm x 750mm or thereabouts. Too small for what I need, so I didnt' take much notice, but might be useful info for others. Re: Glass splashback vs tiles 23Apr 01, 2010 10:19 am hiccup - I work in a restaurant where we have glass splashback over a sink/bench area... the place has been open for nearly 2 years and every day at least 5 times a day it gets wiped down and regularly something gets knocked into it and really people don't take as much care about it as you would if it were in your own home and there are NO scratches or marks on it at all. I'm not sure if different brands use different quality of glass - but I'm under the impression that glass splashbacks have to be of a certain quality/standard to ensure compliance with ISO/Australian standards for heat resistance etc to be used a splashback, with that in mind I wouldn't think there would be too much variation with the quality?!
