Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Jun 05, 2014 9:53 pm Hoping someone can offer advice on the best way to lay our large 300x600 tiles for our splashback. We have the wall above cooktop with rangehood which is 2700 length and plan to go 720-750mm high depending on tile cuts. Then there is the 190mm section on next wall below the window, which we willl cut the tiles to fit, leaving about 120mm to use on the other wall. My thoughts were to use the 120mm cut pieces with 2 rows of the 300mm to give us the 720mm height. But would the cut be at the top or at the bottom row? If it is at the bottom will it look odd meeting up with the 190mm corner, I wouldn't think so but my husband does. Or would a 150mm (exactly half) cut look better, will 120mm look slightly too out of proportion ( I am just trying to save buying another box of tiles). So, in summary will it look ok to use the left over cuts from the window to give a 720mm splashback height below the rangehood. Or should we stack this wall 150 + 300 + 300 = 750mm? How do we deal with the 190mm going around the window? Thanks Thanks Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end.
