Yes right you can….but this type of glass is extremely tough!
So I guess it depends on the shape of the hole.

Not wanting to get in hole shapes..... but I had a cabinet made up with frameless glass doors and they cut holes in it, the glass was toughened or safety glass (something like that) so shouldn't be a problem.
I don't think it's an insurmountable problem, I can visualise a few commercial applications where holes are cut into glass and because of their location would need to be tough glass.
