Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Jun 04, 2013 5:50 pm Hi All, Just wondering if I could get some suggestions with regards to the colour of the splashback in our kitchen reno. Currently 95% finished excluding the splashback of course It's a simple ikea job with Lindigo Cabinets. Our walls are / will be Limed White - Quarter. Splashback colour / material will be near the stove top, where the small corner benchtop is and where the old tiles have been ripped off near the window. The blinds will be replaced with white ones shortly. I'm thinking we need some colour in there but not too sure what to consider, I like colour but am terrible at picking it. Our house isn't super modern, maybe 13 years old, so whilst I like bright red etc I think going too crazy might not match the house? I'm still considering the materials, I dont hate tiles, the bank isnt a fan of glass but I'm not worrying about that. A lot of effort has gone into it so I'd like to get it right, not cheap Anyways, would be hugely grateful for some suggestions. Re: Splashback Colour Suggestions? 2Jun 06, 2013 10:52 am people seem to lean towards being a bit too conservative these days. If you are not planning on selling then conservative colours shouldn't really worry you. I would suggest either a warm orange or matt purple. Most larger splashback companies can provide a large range of colours. In Melbourne, we use a company called Premium but there are heaps of them. Now that i look at your photos again, a matt (not too shiny) purple would draw the eye and tie in well with the whites, greys and timbers. Love it! it seems to be IKEA as we have seen it on displahy in IKEA. It looks stunning. The downside of it is the gloss finish, you will see every little cut and you have to be careful with what you clean it with. Re: Splashback Colour Suggestions? 6Jul 04, 2013 10:17 am Looking at the photos a silver metalic would look great or you can go a few shades darker and go for a graphite metalic or even a solid black would look great, and shows a lot of reflection to helps make the room bigger. Those are the colours i generally do with the colour choices Re: Splashback Colour Suggestions? 7Jul 05, 2013 12:33 am Hello craigmh! one more for warm orange here! Add some bright colour to make it more cozy ... or coral red. But no matt - this kind of surface is hard to clean. Or is you kitchen already finished? Show us!! I couldn't deal with that much white grout to clean, so for my white shaker cabs and grey stone benchtops I am going with a very pale neutral grey glass - Dulux Grey Pebble. I am sure you have made your colour choices very carefully but I was originally tossing up between Grey Pebble and Limed White (very very close on the RGB colour scale) but once our cabinets went in I was amazed by how pink Limed White looked next to our grey benchtop swatches and the Vivid White cabinets and the choice was made for us. If indeed the whole palette works, and you want a glass splashback, you could do Limed White 1/2 or full strength if you wanted to add some depth? That way you know it will tone in with your walls. 1 5027 ideal house depends on the site and location as much as internal floor plan....what is the distance from the house to all four boundaries, where is north, describe your… 3 41048 Hi, Building a new place and I have limited space from garage to fence. 3130mm width, then opens up over 5000mm once I pass tmy garage.
