Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Mar 21, 2013 5:52 pm Yay, Finally after nearly 2 years of having a kitchen with Bright Orange Lino and Pink and Cream Cupboards, we finally had the New Kitchen Installed last Saturday. So excited from having so many troubles with the first lot of floors layed were the wrong one, waited months for them to change it over, getting our kitchen made from 3d images........ i forgot to organise one thing! Splash back! So I would love some advice, Tiles or Splash back. This house is a late 1950's and tried to mix the kitchen with my partners furniture (which is "traditional") the Bench tops are "Stone Fabrini" and Parchment White Shaker Doors. The Paint is Dulux Full Strength Hogbristle with quarter strength Trims and doors I looked at tiles the other day which were hard to find not a stark white tile and one that wasnt too beige or creamy. I would love any suggestions, Living in South Australia, also any one you could recomend - tile or splash back Thanks for any help Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Please help 3Apr 07, 2013 7:16 pm Due to the doors having that flat recessed look i would replicate that with Glass to keep in uniform and help keep the modern look like you have with the handles and the square edge tops. A tip for the window area which ever way you go is to cut the sill flush with the archs just to square up the window to bring it into the modern look as well. Re: Please help 4Apr 07, 2013 8:22 pm Glass for sure. I have just renovated my kitchen with very similar colours as yours. I originally wanted tiles and picked out a brown/latte/coffee ish sort of colour in 600x600 which I thought would be excellent and just fell in love with the colour but decided to go glass splashback. I talked to the guy who was going to install it and he said the place he gets them made can colour match the tile. And it is perfect!! Not sure where in SA you are but I can give you some details if you PM me. I am not sure how to post pics yet on here but I will have a go and you can see my kitchen colours. Or I can email you a pic if I can't get it to work. http://s1300.photobucket.com/user/joane ... 4.jpg.html Fingers crossed Cheers Jo My son and his fiance's build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66084 24/7 Slabbed 30/7 Framed 05/8 Gutters 08/8 Roof & windows 31/8 gyprock, bricks, cornice 3/9 Lock up 8/11 In Re: Please help 6May 16, 2013 4:08 pm Hi, What did you end up getting... glass or tile splashback??
