Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Nov 24, 2012 7:30 pm Hi all! I was after some helpful advice for my bench top and splashback. They've installed the cabinets and i've painted the walls lexicon half. I was originally going to go with a white behind the normal glass for a green tint, but having gotten a sample i'm beginning to think that it's all getting a bit too complementary and I need a heavy contrast. I was considering a very dark charcoal, though i'm open to ideas. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated I was also thinking an alpine white benchtop from quantum quartz but again am open to suggestions! The floor is going to be polished a dark earthy brown. Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 3Nov 24, 2012 10:28 pm Ill be having a white kitchen, light grey walls and wood floors. I plan to do Dulux Malay Grey (dark grey) to compliment Laminex New Graphite that ill do on back of island. I was going for a light grey but decided i wanted the contrast in there Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 4Nov 25, 2012 9:32 am Thanks for the feedback guys! I think i'm comfortable with having a white stone benchtop. I'm confident with the QQ apline. I had a look at both grey's and think they would both fall into the "compliment" spectrum for me. Would like to see photos of your kitchens though! I was thinking possibly something as a dark as dulux domino but can't find any photos... Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 5Nov 25, 2012 10:06 am Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 6Nov 25, 2012 10:24 am Nice, I can see why you went for the grey, you have the contrast between the grey paint and the white benches. I didn't get that from the lexicon half, maybe i should go for a lexicon half splashback instead of domino and get the contrast from somewhere else... so confused! Splashback Colour? Charcoal 7Nov 30, 2012 6:25 am I'll share my experience. I chose a dark brown metallic. When I had the small sample it looked a lot lighter, when it was installed I was disappointed at the dark "black hole" effect it had. I've lived with it for 3 years now and am just getting a quote to get it changed to a soft blue on clear glass (to get just a touch of turquoise going) I don't find a very dark splashback inviting, I want one that makes me smile when I look at it Yes, I like to smile at my splashbacks Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 8Nov 30, 2012 10:36 am Suh have you got photos of your kitchen? Perhaps ill go for a medium/light/silver/metallic grey instead haha Splashback Colour? Charcoal 9Dec 01, 2012 5:51 am It is in the "show us your kitchen" thread and I know it's not that bad to look at but I think I'm just use to it now BUT (again) I remember the sinking feeling when I first saw it here's a shot with no lights on. Anyway, this is just how I feel. I want a happy splashback Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Splashback Colour? Charcoal 10Dec 01, 2012 8:51 am I think it looks nice but ican totally see what you're saying. I think since I'm having polar white kitchen perhaps I should go with a lighter metallic colour. Add bit of shimmer and pretty haha. We plan to do splashback after handover so I have plenty of time anyways. Thanks again for that Re: Splashback Colour? Hi, I am doing a similar colour scheme to this, can you tell me what colour your island bench is please? Thanks. Hi All, I am looking to go with tiles instead of laminate timber flooring throughout my living areas for my new build (Ashbury 29 - Henley). My whole colour scheme is on… 0 24348 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 |
