Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Aug 21, 2012 1:04 pm I have just fitted our kitchen in our new home and one of the last things we need to do is the splashback. My wife and I agree on a metalic red as the colour we want for the splashback. The only problem is that we can find any that we like. All of the metalic red glass splashbacks we have seen have had far to much silver in them. Does anyone have photos of a similar colour or any ideas where I could send my wife to look at them? I dont want to waste my suppliers time and have him spray up a number of different samples. There is a huge range of colours and I have seen quite a few done and they look very impressive. A bank is a place that will lend you money only if you can prove that you don't need it... If you say there is too much metalic than i would say its when they spray a sparkle down on glass first than apply the colour after, this is common as they just use standard paint instead of metalic paint. The problem when they spray the sparkle down if sprayed heavier on 1 panel to the other it can be very noticeable. The paint we use comes from BC Coatings which they will make up any colour of your choice and than add metalic to the paint. The metalic paint also comes in Fine, Medium or Coarse metalic so you can control the amount of sparkle by using a fine metalic. Hope this helps.
