Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks Re: What colour splashback... 41Mar 21, 2008 10:46 pm First off can I say Spot - WOW! That is a gorgeous kitchen, even if it is unfinished!!
I can not believe that its just paint and not a splashback - its fabulous! I really like the colour, I was thinking of a bit lighter brown but it is nice to see the darker brown looks fab too! I'm just thinking though because our walls will be a stoney colour rather than white - if it will fit in as good as it has with yours Oh why can't I have a magic screen that shows me all the completed options and makes it painfully easy for me to choose Re: What colour splashback... 42Mar 22, 2008 8:34 am Thanks!
Was definitley a benefit having a cabinet maker for a husband, we had total design control! Even though some things I wanted I didn't get - I wanted painted doors, but the other half said I'd regret it and wouldn't let me have them. But otherwise he was pretty accommodating. Our walls are called Whitetone, a solver colour. They are pretty flat white but have a latte kind of tint to them, hard to explain. I reckon a lighter colour would look great too, am still toying with the idea of a more latte colour, luckily our splash back will only cost us about $300, so at least with a white kitchen, I can change the splashback to another colour if the chocolate dates. Maybe we could get homeone's Mr Photoshop to try his thing and change the colour???? Re: What colour splashback... 43Mar 22, 2008 8:58 am Good idea Spot - I'd love for someone to use their computer to chnage the colour to a few different ideas; red, burgundy, latte, grey...come on guys!
You should look at Caesarstone Nova Aurora thats whats we are using - white with flecks of sparkle in it - so gorgeous!! Re: What colour splashback... 44Mar 22, 2008 10:21 am NOW……don’t depress me!!!
I must be the only idiot who can’t use her paintshop Pro…….. What makes it worse, I don’t have time to learn either! But just make sure you clear out all the appliance junk off the bench so the splashback area isn't hidden. michelle: you should get a copy of photoshop elements. This is also a great site to play around with colours for splashbacks, very easy to use. A favourite site of mine. http://www.decoglaze.com.au/glass_splas ... lours.htm# Mrs B Re: What colour splashback... 51Mar 22, 2008 3:23 pm Spot your kitchen looks great all clean - I actually really like the colour you have!
That site is AWESOME..I think I have found my colour choice....I am not bold enough to go red now.....I like Phantom and London Fog, they are sort of greyish colours on the far right hand side near the top, I used them with the pictures of the white kitchens Thanks for that link Mrs B = Very helpful Re: What colour splashback... 52Mar 22, 2008 3:34 pm Yeah - I like it clean better too- if only it was like it more often!!!!
Ooooh, love London Fog - that would be my pic out of the two. Now, if I could just get husband to put on some door handles - we have been here three months without them! Re: What colour splashback... 54Mar 22, 2008 4:36 pm Hi Belinda, Phantom was nice, did you see riverbank? On the left hand side 2/3 way down. It is a light brown.

Get the drill out and mark some holes, thats bound to get him moving Ha ha, might go and do that - he reckons each hole has to be precisely measured, and went on with something about a template. Whatever - as long as the handles are functional on the door - I don't care anymore! Re: What colour splashback... 57Mar 22, 2008 6:09 pm Sorry have to agree with hubby here…..as frustrating as it is for you!
If you get the second whole wrong…..well need I say? Template is easy you can do this, and then mark the doors ready for him, or you. Get 1 handle, place it on a piece of white cardboard, push a SHARP pencil through the cardboard into the screw holes of the handles. Make sure you do this in a straight line. Cut the cardboard into a smaller workable piece. Now, using a spirit level, line up the template where you want the handles to go. Mark the position with the sharp pencil onto the doors, using the whole you have made in the cardboard. Once that is done, go back over the pencil marks a little harder so they are seen clearly. Bingo……you’re now ready to drill the wholes and attach the handles. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7151 Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this.
