Browse Forums Kitchen Splashbacks 1 Jun 25, 2012 1:07 pm Have found a product Zenolite that looks good as a splash back HOWEVER can't be used behind gas cook tops. Has anyone used this product? Love your comments on (i) cleaning (ii) scratching and (iii) what clearance is required around the cook top? Thanks Kitchen Splash Back 2Jun 26, 2012 11:03 am Hi We selected Zenolite for our splashback, but when we went to order it the color had been deleted. In the end I found http://www.ozziesplash.com.au/home and they were really good. They can paint acrylic to any colour and they were able to match the deleted Grange colour that we wanted in Zenolite. They cut the panels to size, cut out the holes for power points an delivered the panels really well packed in a wooden crate. Installation was easy - the builder just used liquid nails and silicone at the joints I believe that you need to have 200mm clearance from your burner to the Zenolite/acrylic. In our case we used a standard stainless 900mm splashback panel with a 900mm cooktop. The acrylic buts up against this panel. We haven't had any problems with heat. We have only been in our house for about 3 months but we haven't had a problem with scratching - just wipe it over with a soft cloth and anti-static plastic cleaning spray. I understand that if you do get a scratch then you can just polish it out with a car polish compound because the colour is painted on the reverse.
